Our Geelong based client is a leading process engineering company who specializes in making fire sprinkler systems.
They have an opportunity for an experienced metal fabricator to join their team, on a full-time casual basis, with a view to join the team permanently!
About the role:
The Fabricator is responsible for reading fabrication sheets, processing and fabricating various metal types and following production schedules.
Monday-Friday 7am-3.30pm with an early finish Friday
(38 hour week with overtime available)
Duties include:
- Reading fabrication sheets, drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product of job instructions and specifications
- Operation of tools, plant equipment, maintenance of equipment and use of appropriate PPE
- Detecting faulty operation of equipment or defective materials
- Performing physical labouring such as adjusting heavy objects and cleaning worksite
- Maintaining timesheets and drawings records
What you must have:
- Minimum 3 years experience with steel fabrication
- Experienced using tools such as bandsaw, coldsaw, grinders & drill press
- Drivers license and reliable transport
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Key capabilities:
- Able to read and interpret fabrication sheets & workshop drawings
- OH&S understanding
- Strong English reading, speaking, listening and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in managing & organizing work and self to meet deadlines
